Hi, I’m Desiree Ranoko , and I’m reaching out to my community and the world from the heart of Pimville. I am the co-founder of Dark Dindi Hair Range , a business born out of a daughter’s love and a mother’s need for a solution that actually works. Our Story: From Family Kitchen to Community Solution Dark Dindi didn’t start in a boardroom; it started at home. When I began losing my hair, my daughter refused to let me lose my confidence. She spent countless hours experimenting with organic ingredients to create a hair food that would restore my receding hairline. The results were so undeniable that I never looked back. Today, Dark Dindi has evolved into a full range of organic hair food and growth oils that stand toe-to-toe with any major brand on the market. The Challenge: Breaking into the Beauty Industry As a Kasi (township) business, the path to the shelf isn't easy. We face a saturated market dominated by giants, and as a Black-owned startup, we often face a trust gap from consumers and retailers alike. To move from a local secret to a household name, we need to bridge the gap between quality and compliance . How Your Support Will Help Us Grow We are looking to raise R40,000 to take Dark Dindi Hair Range to the next level. This funding isn't just about buying things—it’s about professionalising our brand so we can compete on the big stage. Your contribution will go toward: Scaling Production: Increasing our inventory of raw organic ingredients and packaging to meet growing demand. Digital Marketing Strategy: Building a professional online presence to share our success stories and build trust with a wider audience. Retail Readiness: Investing in the compliance, testing, and professional branding required to get Dark Dindi Hair Range onto the shelves of major retail stores. Growing With and For the Community Dark Dindi Hair Range is a local business. To us, growth isn't just about profit; it’s about proving that high-quality, organic beauty products can be born and bred right here in Pimville. When you support Dark Dindi Hair Range, you aren't just buying hair oil—you are supporting a local supply chain, helping a township entrepreneur break through industry barriers, and proving that our community's products are world-class. I believe in this brand because I am its first success story. Help us show the world that local is not just lekker—it’s premium. Join us in our journey to nourish hair and empower our community. Every Rand brings us one step closer to the retail shelf!
Hello! My name is Logain Mokgele , and I am the proud founder of Baked by Logain , right here in Sharpeville. Our business was built on a simple, delicious promise: freshly baked scones, every single day, for the people we love. In our kasi , a warm scone isn’t just a treat—it’s comfort, it’s community, and it’s a staple that brings people together. We love what we do, and our community loves what we bake. But right now, we’ve hit a ceiling, and we need your help to rise above it. The Challenge: The Heat is On (But the Power is Off) Like many small businesses in South Africa, load shedding has thrown a massive wrench into our daily operations. Because we rely entirely on electricity, our production completely stops when the lights go out. We are constantly playing catch-up, waiting for the power to return just so we can fulfill our daily orders. On top of that, our current small mixer limits how much dough we can prepare at once. We want to feed more families and grow our business, but our current equipment simply can’t keep up with the Sharpeville appetite! The Ask: Fueling Our Growth We are raising R25,000 to completely transform our kitchen and secure our business’s future. Here is exactly where your investment will go: R15,000 for a Commercial Gas Oven: This is our ultimate game-changer. Switching to gas means we can keep baking through any blackout, drastically slash our electricity overhead costs, and ensure our scones are always served fresh and on time. R10,000 for an Industrial Stand Mixer: This will massively increase our capacity, allowing us to mix larger batches of dough and scale up our daily production. Growing With and Within Our Community This crowdfunding campaign isn’t just about buying new appliances; it’s about investing in the local township economy. When you fund Baked by Logain , the ripple effect stays right here in Sharpeville: Local Jobs & Skills: Increasing our production capacity means we will soon need extra hands in the kitchen. Your support directly paves the way for us to employ and upskill local youth. Affordable, Local Food Security: By switching to gas, we lower our production costs. We pass those savings directly onto our neighbours, ensuring our community always has access to affordable, freshly baked goods, no matter what happens to the power grid. Keeping the Kasi Economy Alive: Every cent invested in us helps prove that township businesses can be resilient, sustainable, and successful. How You Can Help We cannot deliver this deliciousness alone. We need our broader community to back us. Whether you can contribute R50, R500, or simply share our story with your network, every bit of support helps us light our ovens and keep our dream alive. Help us keep the aroma of fresh scones wafting through Sharpeville. Back Baked by Logain today!
Why it's essential: This machine is used to flatten (surface) and dimension (thickness) rough-cut lumber, which is the foundational step in creating solid wood furniture. Cost justification: The spiral cutter block offers a superior finish, quieter operation, and significantly longer blade life compared to standard straight-knife planers, putting it in this price bracket.
Hi, I’m Chef Daniel Langa . Originally from Limpopo, I’ve made my home and built my dream right here in Soweto . I am the creator of Chef Daniel Hot Tasty Chilli Sauces , a brand born from a chef’s passion for pairing perfect flavours with meat, and forged through resilience. Our Story: A Recipe That Saved Us I first created these recipes back in 2016 while working in the restaurant industry. But when the 2020 lockdown hit and everything shut down, these sauces became my lifeline. While out of work, I started selling my homemade blends from home. That hustle didn't just survive—it paid the rent and supported my entire family during a global crisis. Seeing how much people loved the flavour, I knew I had something special. By 2024, I took the leap to officially register the company with CIPC and bring our unique sauces online. The Craft: Fermented to Perfection We don't just blend chillies; we craft them. I personally head to the markets to handpick the best varieties—from fiery Habaneros and intense Cayenne peppers to the famous Carolina Reaper . Right now, our process is entirely artisanal. We ferment the raw chillies in 20-litre buckets with vinegar, custom spices, and healthy dry herbs to create a smooth, deeply flavourful, and fiery finish. But to reach our full potential, we need to move out of the 20-litre buckets and into commercial production. How Your Support Will Help Us Scale To get Chef Daniel Hot Tasty Chilli Sauces onto major retail shelves and into the wider South African market, we need to scale up our infrastructure. Your contributions will fund: Commercial Equipment: Upgrading from 20-liter buckets to professional fermentation barrels and industrial blending equipment. SABS Certification & Compliance: Financing the strict food safety testing and South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) compliance needed for supermarket shelves. Bulk Sourcing & Packaging: Buying our unique pepper varieties directly from farmers in larger quantities to lower production costs and meet retail demand. Growing Together with the Soweto Community By scaling Chef Daniel Hot Tasty Chilli Sauces , you are creating a direct pipeline of growth for the community: Supporting Local Farmers: Scaling up means we will buy our fresh peppers and herbs in bulk, directly supporting local township markets and small-scale farmers. Local Job Creation: Moving into a bigger production space means we will be hiring local youth to assist with the manufacturing, bottling, and distribution of our sauces. During the hardest times of lockdown, this sauce kept my family afloat. Now, I want this business to help feed and employ more families in my community. Let's bring the true taste of Soweto flavour to the rest of the world. Back Chef Daniel today and help us take our artisanal chilli sauces to the big market!
Hi everyone, My name is Tshidi Tau, and I am the founder of BeMerry. I started this journey back in 2011, officially registering the business in 2015, with a clear mission: to bring a healthy, nutritious, and uniquely African staple to our community. At BeMerry, we manufacture mageu, but with a game-changing twist. Traditional mageu takes over three days to ferment. Our innovative process allows us to prepare it in just a single day, completely unfermented. Instead of relying on traditional fermentation for that signature sour taste, we use the incredible African baobab fruit. Baobab is an indigenous superfood and medicinal plant, making our mageu highly nutritious, healthy, and packed with healing benefits. Because we believe in the value of what we’ve built, our recipes for both our mageu and our instant porridge are fully IP-protected and trademarked. Growing Within and With the Community This business belongs to the kasi. Our primary home is right here in the spaza shops of Soweto. Our community has shown us immense love, and our 500ml sorghum mageu is flying off the shelves so fast that we constantly struggle to keep up with demand! But to grow within the community, we need to grow with the community. Right now, our biggest bottlenecks are simple operational costs: we constantly run short of the popular 500ml bottles and their labels. Furthermore, true growth means creating local opportunities. Finance has been a heavy challenge, making it difficult to pay the people who help me or even sustain myself—in fact, my last official salary was back in 2015. By supporting this campaign, you aren't just funding a product; you are fueling a local ecosystem. How Your Support Will Help We are raising R35,000 to take BeMerry to the next level. This funding will go directly toward: Inventory & Materials: Purchasing the raw ingredients, 500ml bottles, and stickers needed to keep local spaza shops fully stocked and satisfy our customers. Local Job Creation: Hiring and paying stipends for two casual workers from the community to assist with production. Founder Sustainability: Allowing me to draw a small wage to keep pouring 100% into this business. When you back BeMerry, you are helping an innovative kasi business scale up, feed the neighbourhood with healthy superfoods, and put money back into local pockets. Let’s build our community together. Thank you so much for your support!
Hello, Dumelang, and warm greetings! My name is Margaret Sebolelo Magagula , and I am the proud founder of Royal Cubo . We are a full-service design and production company rooted right here in the heart of the kasi. At Royal Cubo, we don’t just make furniture; we design pieces that bring modern, durable, and beautiful craftsmanship into people's homes and lives. Up until now, we have poured our hearts into building this business. But to take the next big leap—for Royal Cubo and for our community—we need your support. The Vision: Why We Need Steel Cutting Equipment We are raising R50,000 to purchase advanced steel cutting equipment , including laser cutters, plasma cutters, and shearing machines. Currently, our designs are limited by what we can produce by hand or outsource. By bringing this machinery in-house, everything changes. This equipment will allow us to: Incorporate high-precision metal components directly into our furniture designs. Drastically increase our speed and efficiency , allowing us to take on bigger orders. Deliver the highest standard of durability , blending modern metalwork with beautiful design. Growing With and Within Our Community For me, this crowdfunding campaign isn't just about upgrading machinery—it’s about uplifting the township that built us. A successful business shouldn't just grow within a community; it must grow with it. Here is how your contribution will ripple across our neighborhood: 1. Job Creation & Youth Training With this new machinery, Royal Cubo will expand its production line. This means we can open doors for local youth and unemployed residents, offering them hands-on training in specialized trade skills like laser and plasma cutting. 2. Keeping the Kasi Economy Alive By empowering a local township manufacturer, you help ensure that financial resources circulate right here where it matters most, proving that world-class manufacturing can thrive in the kasi. How You Can Help We cannot make this transition alone. We are looking for believers, investors, and community champions to help us reach our R50,000 goal . Your donation, big or small, directly funds the tools that will shape the future of Royal Cubo and the young people we intend to train. Let’s build, design, and grow together. Thank you for your belief in Kasi Entrepreneurship!
Hi, I’m Mfanafuthi Mkhwanazi , the founder of Kemetic Organic Cosmetics . We live in an era where we are finally questioning what we put on our bodies. I started Kemetic Organic Cosmetics because I believe the answers to our modern skincare and haircare needs shouldn't come from harsh chemicals—they are already found in our own soil. My brand is built on African botanical wisdom , creating plant-based solutions that honour our heritage and our health. The Vision: From Soweto to the National Shelf Based in the heart of Soweto , Kemetic Organic Cosmetics has proven its concept. People love our products because they work and because they align with a conscious, plant-based lifestyle. However, to move from a local favourite to a retail-ready brand, we hit a glass ceiling called production capacity . Right now, we are hand-crafting at a scale that cannot keep up with the demand of retail stores. To grow, we need to transition from small-batch making to professional-scale manufacturing. How Your Investment Creates Change We are seeking to raise R40,000 . This isn't just a financial contribution ; it is the seed money for a community-driven expansion. With your support, we will: Secure Bulk Raw Materials: Drastically reducing our production costs by buying our African botanicals in bulk. Boost Production Capacity: Investing in the equipment and processes needed to fulfill large-scale retail orders. Retail Integration: Finalising the compliance and packaging required to see Kemetic Organic Cosmetics in major outlets across South Africa. More Than Cosmetics: A Solution for Soweto When you support this crowdfunding campaign, you aren't just helping a business—you are investing in the youth of Soweto . Growth for Kemetic Organic Cosmetics means growth for our neighbourhood. My goal is to use this expansion to: Combat Youth Unemployment: By scaling production, I can hire and train local youth, providing them with sustainable jobs in the green economy. Skills Transfer: I am committed to sharing my skills in cosmetic formulation and entrepreneurship, empowering the next generation of Kasi creators. Kemetic Organic Cosmetics is proof that African botanicals are world-class. By supporting us, you are helping a Soweto-born business create jobs and reclaim our botanical heritage. Let’s grow Kemetic Organic Cosmetics together. Your contribution helps us scale our production, stock our shelves, and employ our youth.
This is a fund raiser for the affected peoples.
The CEO and founder of the company, Ms. Motsidisi “Tshidi” Tau, first started her entrepreneurial journey in the year 2010. At the time, she manufactured condiments and vegetable sauces all of which are SABS tested. The business is 100% South African Black African woman owned. During the year 2011, she discovered the Baobab fruit after an acquaintance of hers from Zimbabwe had offered her a few seeds from the fruit to taste. The powder coated seeds had a sweet and tangy taste and immediately reminded her of the traditional sweet and sour soft porridge which her aunt used to prepare for the family for breakfast. An idea came to her mind that she can make a drinkable version of this soft porridge with the Baobab fruit. She then started to research this fruit and found that it is packed with Vitamin c, Antioxidants, Potassium, Iron, Fibre, Magnesium and many other Vitamins and Minerals. She also found that the fruit has amazing health benefits and that it is referred to as one of Superfood of Africa. It is also called The Tree of Life.
