Skills programs
Skills Programs
Skill programs is a short course that up-skills and individual in his or her field of work. These programmes are very popular with unemployed workers especially the youth to give them a better employment status. Students completing a skills program only get a statement of results and not a full qualification. Skills program is thus only a part qualification. We offer a wide variety of courses in different disciplines from technical to soft skills.
LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMS
Learnership programs is the first level of a full qualification. Students that successfully complete a learnership will get an NQF level certificate as a full qualification. A learnership is over a 12- month period. A student that completes 3 consecutive learnership can qualify for Artisanship.
APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS
The department of labour brought new laws to develop the skills of the citizens of our country. These are the Skills Development Act, 1998, and Skills Development Levies Act, 1999. Employers are obliged to contribute money in the form of a skills levy, to ensure funding is available for skills development. Apprentices need to do a trade test at the end of their training at the institute for the Development of Learnership Assessment, after which they will be certified and recognized as artisans within the relevant industries.
