About usThe name SaKoKo means “for my grandmother” and pays tribute to traditional African food preservation methods where vegetables were dried and stored to ensure food security. The brand is also inspired by Tebogo’s personal experience of losses in fresh produce farming, turning challenges into sustainable opportunities. SaKoKo blends tradition with innovation to create nutritious, convenient food solutions.
SaKoKo Foods is a proudly South African agro-processing company established in 2024 by Tebogo Nyathela. After years in the farming industry, Tebogo identified a major challenge in fresh produce farming – post-harvest losses due to spoilage and limited market access. This led Tebogo to venture into agro-processing, transforming fresh leafy greens into long-lasting, nutrient-rich products through dehydration and processing. |
