Elisheva Trading (Pty) Ltd was registered in 2017 by Isabella Twala, a black woman who is fully committed in her business and loves what she is doing, The business started operating in 2020, and is in the Food & Beverages Processing Industry and Food Waste Reduction Industry with Gumbo juice, Kombucha Tea, Hibiscus Tea, Dried Fruits, Crushed Garlic in different flavours, mixed vegetable Atchar and Atchar Oil.

My motivation to leave crop farming and venture into food processing and beverage industry was at the time COVID-19 Pandemic hit our country. I was frustrated as I could not go out for farming. Our sales revenue dropped and we were struggling to pay our employees. With the Analytical Chemistry background I have, a thought of processing Okra, an indigenous plant into a formula came into my mind while busy in my kitchen. The reason behind was to help remedy the situation we were facing in the country.

I tried a formula of mixing Okra as a main ingredient with fresh Ginger and Lemon because of their great health benefits, Okra was one of the crops we were farming. The reason behind the development of the formula was because many people suffered due to chest problems, low immune system and gained lot of weight during those challenging times. I knew that the ingredients I came up with, will help improve the health conditions for the better, that is how Gumbo Juice, a 100% blended niche product came into existence. which is good for the health conscious, vegans and vegetarians.

COVID-19 Pandemic presented an opportunity for me to develop a unique product of its own kind.
